Kachidoki Area: A Skyline of Large Condominium Towers
■Properties of Tsukishima&kachidoki
New residents are pouring into the Kachidoki area. As redevelopment burgeons, high-rise condominium towers are rising throughout the district, attracting young generations and families. Yet while urban development marches on, the cityscape of the Lower Town of old still remains, for example in the yakatabune, roofed pleasure boats, that ply Sumidagawa River. And the spacious waterfront open to the sea makes the area enduringly popular.
Kachidoki Station is residents’ ticket to convenient city-center access. The station lies on Toei Subway Oedo Line, which provides superb transit to central Tokyo and points throughout Rinkai (waterfront) area. Roppongi Station, Shinjuku Station and Shiodome Station can all be reached without changing trains. The subway is complemented by an ample bus network, which whisks commuters to a wide range of locations including Toyosu Market, Tokyo Big Sight and Tokyo Skytree.
Heads turned in 2023, when the Kachidoki area became home to Park Tower Kachidoki Mid & South. Mid Tower is a 45-story complex linked directly to the station. In the first to third basements, Mid Tower hosts a supermarket, a clinic, a daycare center and other facilities. South Tower rises to 54 stories, including a sky deck and rooftop lounge on the 53rd and 54th floors.
With the arrival of Park Tower Kachidoki Mid & South, which opened in 2023, the district is growing steadily and further development is expected.
