Toyosu Area: A Town That Keeps on Generating Value
Toyosu Station is a node on two commuter lines, the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho (subway) Line and the New Transit Yurikamome Line. Both lines provide snappy access to the center of Tokyo. Taking the Yurikamome Line brings you to key business districts such as Odaiba and Shinbashi without changing trains. A limousine bus service to Haneda Airport provides superb convenience for air travelers. In tandem with a major redevelopment that kicked off in the 2000s, the district’s urban infrastructure is improving by leaps and bounds, creating the modern skyline that makes urban development so exciting.
Among these developments are Urban Dock Park City Toyosu and Urban Dock LaLaport Toyosu, which connect to each other by an underground walkway. Supermarkets dot the streetscape around this complex, so residents never want for everyday shopping options.
The world took notice of Toyosu when Tokyo’s central wholesale market moved here from Tsukiji. In February 2024, a shopping complex named Senkyaku Banrai (a phrase meaning “a flood of customers” or “a roaring trade”) hung out its shingle next door. Senkyaku Banrai offers countless ways to have fun. Among its attractions are a 24-hour public bath complete with indoor and outdoor baths as well as rock saunas. There’s also a pedestrian mall styled after a city street in old Edo, where an extensive range of gourmet options make full use of the bounty from Toyosu Market next door.
The nearby Shin-Toyosu area is being planned as a carbon-zero community, with Tokyo Gas as the chief sponsor. Does Toyosu sound like a community that’s right for you? If it is, please browse our property listings and get in touch with us.
