■Yokohama area property listings
Hugging the ocean and linked to the world by its port, Yokohama area oozes cosmopolitan sophistication. While buildings of historical interest are carefully preserved throughout, redevelopment has advanced remarkably in recent years, continually refreshing and reinvigorating the city.
A key driver of development in Yokohama area is Minato Mirai district, where new facilities are rising from the streets one after the other. K Arena, when it opens to the public in fall 2023, will comprise one of the world’s largest musical arenas, seating some 20,000 guests. Adjacent sites will be home to a Hilton hotel and office complexes, among others.
Other nearby arrivals will be the Westin Hotel Yokohama and Minato Mirai Campus of Kanagawa University. With so many mixed-use complexes adding to the vibrant functionality of the city, the skyline of Minato Mirai is sure to undergo an astonishing transformation.
Redevelopment is also rolling forward in the vicinity of Yokohama Station, the gateway to Yokohama. The centerpiece of this undertaking was laid down in 2020 with the completion of shopping attractions such as NEWoMan Yokohama and CIAL Yokohama. At the west exit of Yokohama Station, JR Yokohama Tower, which includes a movie theater, and JR Yokohama Tsuruyacho Building were finished in the same year. Looking ahead, March 2024 will see the completion of The Yokohama Front, a 43-story complex comprising shopping, a hotel, residences and more. A more comfortable, convenient and appealing Yokohama Station continues to emerge with each passing month and year.
